Becoming Capetonian

Today, I bought a Wonderbag on my way to the Recycling Depot. It all felt very Capetonian.

My best intentions usually come to naught. But I do plan to make my own bread (according to Rob O’Donoghue’s recipe sourced from rural Eastern Cape women), my own yoghurt (inspired by my ex-neighbour, Harold Gess, the beautiful thermometer I bought from the Rhodes’ Chem Lab for R27 and a glorious posting on Salon.com) and to cook samp just like Margot Janse.
